Steps to loving yourself

The following are some handy tips for becoming a better person with more to follow in the next blog.

1.  Stop Holding Your Breath:  Breathe.  The breath is our very life force and holding it creates tension and fear throughout our being.  Check your breathing frequently–nothing fancy–just in and out will do.

2.  Stop All Criticism:  No one has ever changed or grown as a result of criticism.  Refuse to criticize yourself to yourself or others.  Accept yourself exactly as you are, and the door to change and healing opens.

3.  Stop Scaring Yourself:  Terrorizing yourself with yourself with your thoughts is a form of self punishment.  Choose a mental image that calms you and when scary thinking threatens, focus on your calming imagery and switch your scary thoughts to supportive/peaceful ones.
